Martin Custom Shop 000
This is a Martin custom shop 000 sized 24.9" scale length guitar I bought recently. I had been visiting my local GuitarGuitar shop and always gravitated to this Martin as if pulled by an invisible force. It was so good. Amazingly good actually, as if it was impossible for those notes to come out of it. A bass so rich and a high treble so delicate, it was hard to believe.

So, after some deliberation, curtailed by some unknown competitor who was sniffing about it, I pounced.
I traded a Victory VC35 and am going to move on my 63/early 64 Fender Jazzmaster to recoup the cost of this. Check out the spec sheet below. Click on it for a magnified version. The specs don't tell the tale though, even with fancy terms as sinker mahogany and Adirondak spruce. It's the sound and rarely do you hear a guitar like this.
The scale length is shorter than the Atkin OM37 or the Martin D28 being 24.9" instead of the 25.4" of these and I like that scale length a lot.
It's just a simple plain looking 000 but that is misleading as the sound isn't plain at all. It's very responsive and you can hear the difference in the bass as you anchor your hand on the bridge. Take your hand of and the bass becomes fuller - that's the sound of a very good top.
It also comes with a leather booklet, apparently a UK only feature and made in Perth Scotland or so I'm told.
So after losing the Victory head and hopefully passing on my almost mint Jazzmaster, I hope it will be worth it. Check out JTKM Studio soon for my Fender Jazzmaster. It's really nice and you don't often see them is collector condition like mine.
