This was the second Jaguar I bought from Johnnie and shortly after and to his horror, I had it re-fretted, with new nut.
It had been re-crowned so many times, the treble side of the frets were almost flat to the fretboard and although it played fine, it was not a good experience; with fingertips squeaking on the board.
I think that guitars need to be played and need to play well.
It has also had a Staytrem bridge, tremelo arm and collet fitted but the originals are easily put back and have been stored in the original black Fender no logo case.
The guitar features late pre-CBS features of pearloid dot markers, unbound neck, L series neck plate and staggered pole piece pickups.
The finish has checked through time, especially on the back and this is typical on original nitro cellulose finished guitars.
The Brazilian rosewood fingerboard also has a most unusual figuring!
This was originally sold to Johnnie by Gary Dick of Gary's Classic Guitars in Ohio.
